Nev Ficklings "Piking around" and "Ficklings Pike" excellent videos/DVD's that I still re-watch to this day and get re-inspired. It's funny to watch Nev raving about lamps and keeping his ONE for a special occasion!!! How times change...

Also the 2PT Video "How to catch bigger pike" by Paul Gustafson, I particularly like the "Winter" section on Gloucs stillwaters, really watchable, a single minded angler with a slightly different approach to most pike anglers catching big pike after big pike.

The book that came out after this (same now) is one of the most relevant pike angling books ever written - not for beginners, but if you've been fishing a while and want to improve - this is the book for you!

QUEST FOR GIANT ZANDER

this video/dvd made by clean river fishing features dave lavender and ted houseago fishing in lakes and on the fens for zander on the back of the box it says "baits and rigs are all explained " but it says nothing about bait except in 1 sequance where lavender says "i wish i had some roach "
there are a few rigs shown but i would not be using them ok its personal prefferance but the rigs shown are not for me the pat rig that houseago shows is far to complicated for my liking he also thinks that a 13mm cork ball will make a 3 oz lead stand on its end
also the fish care in the film leaves a lot to be desired like leaving fish on the ground unattend no unhooking mats paying out line to a taking fish it also shows you a trace that lavender is using and to be honest if it was mine it would have been binned ages ago as you can see loads of kinks in it

over all tho i would give it 6 out of 10 only for the fact that you get to see the british record zander caught on film
every time i watch this film it makes me want to get my gear and head out to the fens but that is more to do with a personal note rather than the film content
