i think 20% is too much for every specimen pike. maybe the smaller ones, but i doubt a 20lbs + fish does much more than 10%.

20%? I can't imagine a fat trout reservoir pike being able to put that much weight on, that would put it over 50lb. I reckon the 20% rule would apply to river fish and maybe some still water fish but again it depends how well fed they have been.

Maybe not as much extra weight as you might have thought but just had a look at the pics on the Bristol water facebook page and it looks to me like the same fish.....has got a couple of distinctive markings at the root of the tail that match up in both pics

Doesn't look good for those fishing tomorrow. Apparently it has gone a nasty reddy brown colour with all this rain washing crap in to it. Will be a struggle by all accounts. Am glad I am not on there til November. Hopefully the weather will have calmed down by then If that 43 comes out though it will be a proper beast!

all of you who where lucky enough to get tickets,i hope you catch a good one as it opens tommorow, and yes i am jealous, for one reason for the chance to have a go for the 43lb what was caught a while back,if she has put on the normal amount of spawn she is going to break the british record ,if she gets caught that is
