first thing I checked was for marks and none, the swims haven't been fished for 2 weeks due to the river being high, looking at the water marks gone down about 7 feet.the swim I was in I would expect most dead fish coming down the river to end up,why I fish it,but couldn't explain why two perch of this size where there, about 100m apart, and a roach of about 1 lb floating in the branches which I couldn't reach, perhaps it is normal after a flood?and the pike eat most of these fish before us pikers get a look at them

That's worrying. Any marks on the perch? If nto could be a problem with the water

well Its been a while but have had a few doubles out over the last few weekends all between 14 half and just over 17,running out of time to get a river 20,it was strange today looking at quite a few dead fish about,i even hooked a dead perch about 2 lb(in the freezer now) this was in deep water where I know the big girls hold up,been there a while I think,i wasn't the only person another piker found a big perch dead up near his bank that he was fishing, these sort of bait fish shouldn't be there, should of been found by a pike before us

could of been a 30 but more like it was 3 tried it again yesterday, but after a few hours he opened up 3 weirs, that meant a wade through 3 feet of running water to get out,so changed to a lock cut did get one wasn't a monster but it was nice to see a pike in perfect condition,so it will be off to the trout ress at the weekend, because I think the river will be in full flood again but will check on Friday just in case it isn't
